Northgate, Seattle, King County, Washington, 98125

Northgate is a neighborhood in north Seattle named after and surrounding Northgate Mall, the country’s first covered mall. The Northgate Mall, which opened in 1950, is the oldest, the first regional historic shopping facility known as a mall, while it is preceded by three other shopping malls in the United States. It was initially located outside of the city limits of Seattle, but this is no longer the case. It is situated in Northgate’s Maple Leaf neighborhood. Many strip malls and the “Northgate North” shopping district, which includes a Best Buy and a two-story Target, surround Northgate Mall.
