Algona is a city in the Seattle metropolitan area, bounded to the north and east by Auburn, to the east by Pacific, to the south by unincorporated King County, and to the west by unincorporated King County. According to the 2020 census, the population was 3,290. “Algoma” was the initial name of the community. The spelling problem was caused by a recording error made by postal personnel, which was never remedied. Every year, Algona hosts the “Algona Days” festival, which is organized by the city. The event features a variety of food vendors, lawn mower racing, miniature rides, live music, and other activities.
