Madison Park, Seattle, King County, Washington, 98112
Madison Park is a neighborhood in east central Seattle, named after the city park on the Lake Washington shore at the foot of E. Madison Street. Madison Park was a popular destination for residents living in Downtown Seattle in the early 1900s and continues to draw people from Capitol Hill and beyond, especially on warmer days. Despite its proximity to the city center, it was envisioned as a summer retreat, with a cable car traveling over the hills to the lake, a park, a swimming beach, and ferries to sites throughout Lake Washington. Madison Park is now an upmarket residential neighborhood with a lot of restaurants and cafés. Pioneer Hall in Madison Park is on the National Register of Historic Places.
