Beacon Hill is a hill and neighborhood in southeast Seattle. The neighborhood has a large Asian American and African American population and is one of the most racially diverse in Seattle. Beacon Hill is known for its many great meals and restaurants, as well as a highly ranked hair salon, the top live music venue, and a place for kids activities. Beacon Hill is well-known for its Food Forest, a new project that has developed local urban farming west of Jefferson Park. The Beacon Food Forest has received national media attention, including coverage from the Associated Press, CBS, Gawker, and HLN, to mention a few.
