Newcastle is a city in King County’s Eastside. The city has an active trail-building community that is working to establish a network of trails that will be integrated into new housing complexes and parks. The majority of the trail work was done by volunteers and the Washington Conservation Corps, which was supported by the city of Newcastle. The trail system will eventually connect with Renton to Lake Washington to the west and Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park to the east, both of which are in unincorporated King County.
