Federal Way is a city in King County. It is one of the county’s newest cities, with a population of 101,030 according to the 2020 census. Federal Way is Washington’s tenth-largest city and King County’s fifth-largest. Weyerhaeuser, the world’s largest private owner of softwood forest, had its headquarters in Federal Way until 2014. Weyerhaeuser has made most of its land available to the public in Federal Way, including two botanical gardens: the Rhododendron Species Foundation and Botanical Garden and the Pacific Bonsai Museum. Other attractions in the city include the Olympic-size swimming pool at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
