Maple Valley is a city in King County, with a population of 28,013 people according to the 2020 census. Residents use the city as a commuting town, while there is significant commercial activity in the area. Lake Wilderness, Lake Lucerne, Rock Creek, and a portion of Pipe Lake are the principal bodies of water within the municipal limits. The Cedar River flows through unincorporated King County near the city’s northeastern boundary. The city is bounded by two unincorporated King County census-designated places, Hobart, Fairwood, and Ravensdale, as well as the cities of Renton, Kent, and Black Diamond.
